InterpTalk - Interpretive Master Planning Seminars.
These two "one-hour seminars" will be great references for the sharing of new interpretive ideas for anyone providing interpretive planning services for parks, heritage sites, museums, zoos or other heritage attractions.


Seminar One: New Concepts for Interpretive Planners:
14th of October at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Eastern Time. Seminar interpretive topics:




- Mass Customization - no general audiences?
- Markets of One - who are your interpretive audiences?
- The Experience Economy - what experiences does your plan offer that visitors are looking for
or expecting?

This seminar will focus on these three new ideas required for new interpretive plans. Handout materials/articles will be provided for references.

This seminar will be offered via
ZOOM on the 14th of October at 1:00 pm Eastern Time. The seminar will be limited to 20 participants to allow for participant questions and discussions. The length of the seminar will be for one hour. The seminar, offered by Prof. John Veverka (Director - The Heritage Interpretation Training Center) is offered FREE of Change to any interpretive planner, heritage interpretation consultant or any heritage interpretation professional.

Seminar Two: Advanced Interpretive Planning Concepts - the "big picture".
21st of October, 1:00pm - 2:00 pm



I'll present sessions on new ideas for interpretive planning from my Advanced Interpretation textbook and course to include:

- Planning and Creating "Landscape Museums". This concept is designed for interpretive planning for scenic byways, driving tours, and large scale region heritage tourism site development (a County size for example).

Interpretive Systems Planning. Comprehensive interpretive planning for agencies or organizations managing two or more heritage sites - linking one main interpretive theme and objectives to be illustrated at all sites within the system.

Handout materials will be provided. The seminar will be limited to
20 participants to allow time for questions and discussions. This seminar will be offered via ZOOM on the 21st of October, 1:00pm. The length of the seminar will be for one hour. The seminar, offered by Prof. John Veverka (Director - The Heritage Interpretation Training Center) is offered FREE of Change to any interpretive planner, heritage interpretation consultant, or any interpretive professional.

John Veverka - seminar lecturer Korea Parks (left) and interpretive planning for Nine Mile Canyon, Utah (right). John has over 40 years of experience as an interpretive planner and trainer world wide. John received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in interpretation where he also developed and taught a course on Interpretive Master Planning and developed the first college text book on interpretive planning. He spent 5 years at Michigan State University working on a Ph.D. where he developed and taught introductory and advanced courses in interpretation. He has completed hundreds of interpretive plans and developed 44 college level courses in interpretation currently offered through the Heritage Interpretation Training Center. He is a Founding Member for the National Association for Interpretation and received the NAI National Fellow Award.
